lyrics
EVERY NIGHT
Every night I dream,
That I will wake in my sleep,
To noises downstairs,
Coming from behind the kitchen door.
The Saucer will greet the spoon,
And play her a little tune,
The fork will pose as a guitar,
The chopsticks will sing where they are.
It’s a wild night outside,
The wind is blowing in the leaves,
It’s a wet night outside,
The droplets are turning to ice.
On the table a light shines,
Too dim to shine on me,
Shadow scissors dance,
At the silver jamboree.
All the pencils gather round,
Some rubber tipped, some neglected,
They turn around to see,
Somebody tracing their footsteps.
It’s a wild night outside,
The wind is blowing in the leaves,
It’s a wet night outside,
The droplets are turning to ice.
Everybody knows, that you should never sleep with the light on,
It’s a gate way to the things in the dark,
There’s a commotion, a loud bang, a pop and a scream,
Suddenly, everything stops.
